After a marriage or divorce, you may need to change the name which appears with your e-mail address. In general, there is going to be a way to do that within the account settings for your e-mail program, whether that be through Desktop clients such as Outlook and Thunderbird or web-based services such as AOL, Google and Yahoo!. These screenshots illustrate the process through Yahoo!.
When you are looking at your Yahoo! Mail, click on the “gear” symbol in the upper right hand corner of your page. I circled it in red in the image below. This will reveal a menu of options. Choose “settings.”
In the left sidebar, choose “Writing email.” Then click on the link at the bottom for “Accounts.” Again, I’ve circled these in red in my screenshot below.
Then simply change your name on the next screen by clicking in the “Your name” field. Don’t forget to save.
